Sajda Parveen looks after her mother, 3 sisters and 3 kids all by her own. She has a small quarter in Ali Park Gujranwala that her dying father left for his family. She was married but after 3 years her husband brought another women home without her approval. Things went dramatic but Sajda kept trying to make the relationship work. The case remained in court for two years but unfortunately, her husband died in an accident and everything came to end. On the other hand, In-laws never wanted her back, so she permanently moved to her family home with her kids.
It’s been five years after her husband’s death; Sajda with the help of her younger sisters look after the family. She was doing a job at a salon before learning about Kaarvan from a girl in her neighborhood. Sajda wanted to gain skills that would actually help a family of females without the societal complications. She and her sisters had some knowledge about hand embellishment but Sajda wanted to have the skills of stitching to increase their opportunities. Hence, she left her job and decided to enroll herself in Kaarvan SFJ program. She went to one of our centers that were closer to her locality but the seats were full. So, she came to the other center for a seat knowing that she would have to cover 10 kilometers for the next 3 months daily to do so.
After the training, Sajda truly believes in finding some good prospects in future as she thinks the training has changed her view about conventional designing and stitching techniques. She also speaks of her experience to be amazing and Kaarvan becoming a second home to her. She is determined to keep polishing her skills with the drills she learned at the centre and In future, she wishes to make an honest living for and with her family.
