Pathways & Pursestrings

The Pathways and Purse-strings project started off with the aim to enable 8000 women with enough skills and market knowledge for them to sell in urban markets. The Completion of the project resulted in the following achievements:


  • 300 villages in 7 districts engaged
  • 8184 women trained in the art of producing hand embellished products
  • 8 Trainers trained by Kaarvan to impart Vocational and Literacy Skills
  • 213 gaps bridged between women artisans and markets
  • Skills taught included – Product Development, Product Planning, Price Costing, Marketing, Leadership Skills, Record keeping Trainings, Safety Measures
